Interview With My Aunt

Interview with my aunt Diane Launderette:

How are you keeping busy? As an owner of a salon I am strictly forbidden to meet with clients at the shop. So what have I been doing in my free time? I have just been stocking up on goods we seem to run out of fast at the shop. I have also been practicing my braiding skills as it is something I’m weak on.

What is helping you cope? I’ve just been calling everyone in my family regularly. It is good to check on your family during these hard times. So having a good talk with everybody makes me feel better at the end of the day.

What still feels normal about your life? I still have to cook for my household which is very frustrating at the end of the day.

What doesn’t feel normal? The fact that I cannot work! I miss seeing all my regulars and I love hairdressing so its killing me not to be able to work! I have had a salon for 20 years and worked every day besides the weekends so this is killing me!

What is the closest thing to this that you’ve ever experienced before? Nothing. I have no experienced anything like this in my lifetime and I hope to never go through something like this again!

When this is over, do you think everything will return to how things were before? Or, how do you think things might be different? Do you foresee any changes because of this? I think everything will return to normal overtime. I don’t think that it will be right back to normal when this ends. I think it will take some time for everyone to get back into the swing of things. I just hope its fairly quick.
