How is everyone doing today? I wanted to start off by shedding some knowledge on our most recent outbreak and the widely talked about Coronavirus (COVID-19). As of right now there are 79,737 people that have been infected with the Coronavirus, now of those many cases 2,628 people have died. This number is rising daily. In COVID-19, ‘CO’ stands for ‘corona,’ ‘VI’ for ‘virus,’ and ‘D’ for disease. Formerly, this disease was referred to as “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV.” (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html)

What is the source of this vicious virus you might be wondering? COVID-19 Stems from a large family of common viruses. This family of viruses can cause illness in both animals and humans. Rarely these animal viruses infect humans. This is what the CDC suspects.
What animal you might be wondering? “Researchers in Guangzhou, China, have suggested that pangolins — long-snouted, ant-eating mammals often used in traditional Chinese medicine — are the probable animal source of the coronavirus outbreak that has infected more than 40,000 people. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-020-00364-2
